Assistant Men's Basketball Coach Department: Athletics

Locatedin Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college,offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses inWellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary: The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational communityand have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with variousneeds and backgrounds. This is a part-time position with no benefits. Theideal candidate will work in conjunction with head coach to supervise anddevelops an intercollegiate varsity team, including in-season and off-seasonprogramming, in accordance with institutional and departmental objectiveswithin the rules and regulations of the athletic governing bodies.
Key Responsibilities and Duties: - Assist head coach in establishing team goals for season and ensure that they are in line with those of the entire MassBay Athletic program;
- Responsible for recruiting and training eligible players, organizing, implementing, coordinating and supervising all aspects of the team sport and for attending practices and games;
- Responsible for knowledge of and adhering to league rules and best practices pertaining to sport techniques, rules and regulations;
- Communicate daily with Assistant Director of Athletics regarding season progression including details regarding practices, game results, and player eligibility;
- Distribute and collect all team equipment to players throughout the season;
- Represents the university and team at all appropriate athletic events (e.g. competitions, conferences, and college sanctioned programs such as open houses);
- Assists with game day set-up and breakdown;
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required;
- Experience coaching basketball at a competitive level.
Preferred Qualifications: - Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action;
- Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
- Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need;
- Recruitingexperience.
Additional Information: Salary Range: $6,500per season
